some good jokes for the beginning of the week ;)...

I know some people don't like political jokes, but this one is really good and I couldn't refrain from posting...

via Charles William Rogers:
One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.
Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The congressman was very happy and left the shop.
The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it. ;)
"It seems you don't wear bra today, Miss?" said a schoolboy to his teacher.
"How you found out? I still wear my coat?" answered the teacher.
"Well, it's easy, there are no wrinkles on your face..."
From a conversation of two blonde women: "The princes of today are so awful that it seems it's better to marry the white horse instead..."
And the usual excerpt from a book of mine: One of the interesting qualities of human mind is that when we have to remember some important scientific facts, the probability to remember a funny joke instead rises in a a geometrical progression... my future Kids' Funny Business.

Good and bad sides of torrent sites…

I am pretty sure all the directors, screen-writers, actors, common writers, etc hate all those sites in the World Wide Web where one could find and download for freee (in other words steal) a lot of their works. There are a lot of such sites, available mostly in the countries with a lower standard of life, and the entertainment industry loses billions of dollars every year because of the shrewd movie, music, books’, etc thieves. I can’t remember the exact numbers, yet it’s not a secret they are enormous…
Of course, it’s well-known using such sites is equal to the same vile acts like stealing of goods In a supermarket, a shop for electronics, or in a book-store and kiosk for newspapers and magazines. Yet, as a famous Bulgarian proverb goes, every evil leads to something good. As strange as it may sound, torrent sites could help the film and publishing industries to sell better their products (and to produce better movies, books, etc.)
There are enormous quantities of motion pictures and written works that appear every year on the market and usually a short trailer is not enough for potential customers and fans to see whether a movie is worth watching or later on buying on DVD. Yet, if we use a torrent site and watch a copy to see all the qualities of a product of the entertainment industry (good dialogues, wise thoughts and quotes, incredible sights and special effects, etc), the chances for that movie (with a good quality, on an original DVD, blue-ray, etc) to become a significant part in our collection increase drastically. Before someone would say such thoughts are a sign of an insane mind, just remember that usually the motion pictures we could download from a torrent site are not good quality, compared to the copy we could buy on DVD. That’s why if a movie is really worth watching, i. e. contains a really good and intriguing plot, true and actual wisdom for any period of our history, sights we could see only in a good motion picture, or exchange of funny words and such conversations that we could remember them till the end of our days (or even after that too), etc, then everyone will be tempted to buy it the proper way and really enjoy all the qualities we could see there.
That’s why I guess torrent sites could be a good way to remind all the directors, screen-writers, actors and actresses how essential it is to create really good final products. To use sites for free downloading of movies, books, music, etc is still a theft, it is the only truth (and no one should deny they are right to ban them in many countries). Yet, it doesn’t mean such sites couldn’t help in many cases for the creation of masterpieces in the entertainment industry.
BTW, this post of mine is not concocted just like that in my spare time, it is based on personal experience. After stealing some movies from such “useful” sites, I bought a lot of them: Medicine Man, some versions of The Lord Of The Rings, even before Peter Jackson’s trilogy saw the light of day, Schindler’s List, some Star Trek episodes, Terminator 2, Chaplin, Star Gate, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon, Decisive Time (Време Разделно), one of the best Bulgarian movies, etc.

jokes for the beginning of the week...:)

A masked gang entered into a bank, ordered everyone to stand in the middle in a circle, took all the money, but finally the mask of one of them fell.
"Did anyone saw my face?" asked the gangster.
"Yes," said one of the employees. "I know who you are..." So, the gangster shot him immediately...
"Anyone else who saw me?" asked the gangster again.
"My mother-in-law..." answered one of the employees right away...

A couple went to have a picnic, but the man was frustrated: "I took all the food, the tent, the blankets, but I forgot the brandy..."
"Damn it!" said the mosquitoes. "This guy ruined our party..."

A couple of minutes after a waiter took the order of his clients, he ran to them and asked them: "Please, eat your fish quickly! The health inspector is coming this way..."

Contrary to the common opinion, most of the times heaven is a moment, not a place on Earth... from my future The Origin Of Gods.

some jokes for the end of the weekend and the beginning of the new week (some not good for kids) + an ivitiation for a party :)

As tomorrow, 7th January, is my name-day (a feast that as important as birthdays in some countries like Bulgaria, and even more important than birthdays in Greece), I'd love to invite all my virtual friends to celebrate together. Actually, according to the custom, one shouldn't be invited to come to such a feast but as few people know about that, I thought it would be appropriate to write my invitation too...:).

A wife complains to her friends: "I married my  husband as he was well-built and silent. Later on, I realized he just couldn't talk and hide his belly at the same time..."

A soon to be bald guy enters into a drug-store and asks: "Give me something to preserve my hair!"
"Oh, no problem, here's a nice small box for keeping the fallen hairs safe..."

A young couple is having sex. The wife: "Oh, honey, talk to me dirty things..."
"Sure, sweetheart! The kitchen, the dinning room, the bathroom..."

One of the good ways to walk on the peace path and reach its final goal is to share your feasts with other nations and experience theirs as well... my future The Origin Of Gods/A Writer's Adventures.

The Hobbit, A Movie About There And Back Again… And Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone! Wish you all the best! :)
No matter how good or bad a movie is, there will always be some guys who will praise it everywhere and in front of everyone, while some others wouldn’t be able to bear the sight of any frame from it and would anathemize it all over the world. That was why I wasn’t surprised there were negative reviews about The Hobbit, but was frustrated they were so many and so exaggerated.
Of course, the book is better, usually no movie could surpass the written story it’s based on. Yet, why there are complains about the duration of the motion picture? After all, that way a director, screen-writer and a crew could include much more events, wisdom, or adventures from the story? Many critics thought all the movie could be just two hours long (and not three parts of almost three hours each), but I guess then it would describe only a few of all the breath-taking dialogues, battles and creatures. Even now, it seems not all the adventures are included in the proper way (all the funny and interesting conversations and mishaps at the party with the dwarves and Gandalf or at Bilbo’s first meeting with the wizard were just touched upon, imagine what would they and some other adventures would look like if the movie was just one of about two hours…).
BTW, be careful which kids you would take to see this fantasy trilogy, all the nasty, scary and deadly creatures are so realistic (especially when we watch them in 3D and with 46 frames per sec.) that many of them would have nightmares after that for many nights, I guess…  Yet, all the kids and all the adults will be in awe with the costumes! As they are so perfect, as if they came out straight from the written story or are fruit of the wildest imagination… I guess all the three parts of the trilogy will have Oscars in that category…
